Since it doesn't need an operating system it can run on any PC. It can be useful if you're just not quite sure that your machine is healthy. I had a problem with an old P5/133 locking up tight. No oops, no crash, nothing. Turns out that the problem was fixed by configuring the ROM BIOS to _not_ assign PCI interrupts using PNP. I told the BIOS to hard-wire them and things were fine.
