It's basically a web services yellow pages; a mechanism for businesses to publish information about the Web Services that they provide. The core component is an XML document called a "business registration" that contains (from a business perspective) * "white pages" contact info * "yellow pages" category info based on a standard taxonomy * "green pages" tech info about the services themselves From a technical perspective, the UDDI schema groups that information into: * =businessEntity= - business info, i.e. "white pages" and "yellow pages" * =businessService= - service info, binds a set of web services to a either a business process or category of services * =bindingTemplate= - binding info, each =bindingInfo= points to a =tModel= which is metadata that describes the formal spec for the binding -- Main.TobyCabot - 29 Jan 2004
