What's your favorite real-life Dilbert story?
Line: 46 to 46
The Dilbert moment came when we were told that the customer didn't want to pay the additional license fees for the rule engine so we were going to build one from scratch! In summary, we paid for a rule engine that we didn't use, and then when we needed one we built it ourselves. Scott Adams couldn't come up with a more absurd scenario if he tried.

I was once called into a meeting with HR because I had dropped an F-bomb on a Slack channel. The explanation that the (clearly embarrassed) HR rep gave was that someone had complained that they were concerned that the summer interns would be offended by that language. I was asked to edit the message to edit the message so it wouldn't upset their delicate sensibilities, which I did. Not a long time later, we had a "make a 10-song playlist" challenge and, you guessed it, every fourth song was explicit gangsta rap. I'm so glad that HR was looking out for the interns!
